SOS Children’s Villages International https://www.sos-childrensvillages.org/ is the umbrella organization for over 130 SOS Children’s Villages associations worldwide. As a non-governmental social development organization, SOS Children’s Villages International helps children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and advocacy for children’s rights.

Purpose of the position

The Programme IT systems team provides systems for programme staff and aggregates data for reporting on all levels of the Federation to inform evidence-based decision-making. These systems include PDB2 for case management, ProDIGI for programme and project management, and the Programme Compass App for combined Power BI reporting.

The Programme IT Systems Business Analyst is mainly responsible for three activities of programme management service: Elicit requirements; Develop, maintain and update Programme IT systems and Ensure integration with other systems.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Elicit requirements

  • Analyze business processes and needs
  • Manage and develop user as well as business requirements
  • Establish, re-evaluate business cases
  • Product Assessment (incl. user satisfaction)
  • Key communication contact for subject matter expert (SME) and process owners

Develop, maintain, update Programme IT systems

  • Prioritize business needs
  • Write and test tickets for SIMS
  • Evaluate suppliers
  • Develop and implement aligned change management practices with business process owners when implementing systems (e.g. case management, new data analysis routines)
  • Create and update process documentation and revise on regular basis
  • Prioritize product and sprint backlog
  • Create process maps and flows drawing
  • Monitor software development

Ensure integration with other systems

  • Maintain communication and understanding with other running products and software projects in order to ensure alignment of business needs and solution designs

Support Programme IT system team to fulfill its other responsibilities

  • Provide systems that comply with GDPR
  • Provision of Compass reports and descriptive statistics from PDB2 and ProDIGI (e.g. create reports in Power BI, Salesforce, or other tools being used or extract data via SQL)
  • Support implementation of systems via shared service centre (Business Analyst acts as third level user support)
  • Support product owner in promoting IT systems federation-wide (e.g. with PSAs) and external (e.g. presentation at universities, corporates, NetHope network) as well as validating supplier contracts
  • Support system analyst with test cases for FIT, System & UA tests as well as with quality assurance

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems, IT, or Administration with focus on IT, or data science, or bachelor with profound working experience in business analysis
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Analysis or System Quality Assurance in the programme domain, including relevant work experience in iNGOs or international organizations
  • Experience in translating business requirements into domain IT solutions
  • Proven track record of project management and experience in leading roles or ownership of projects/processes
  • Fluent in English, knowledge in Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese is an asset
  • Experience in Requirements engineering and/or Application Lifecycle Management Structure and explain technical content comprehensively is advantage
  • Experience in user support is desirable
  • Experience in Monitoring and evaluation is plus
  • Experience in SQL and data visualization is advantage
  • Knowledge in GDPR/data protection is advantage
