Following the successful start-up of the Macedonian Plant, our Client is looking for Global Product Cost Engineer (m/f/d) – Carbon calculations to join their Competence Centre that supports the Group in diverse calculation topics.

Purpose of job: As Product Cost Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, estimating, and managing the cost of our products throughout their lifecycle. The Product Cost Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure the overall product competitiveness in the market.
As a Sustainable Living Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting sustainable practices and reducing environmental footprints. Your primary responsibility will be to utilize SGN and footprint calculator tools to assess and analyze the ecological impact of businesses. Through your expertise, you will guide and inspire positive change by providing tailored recommendations for sustainable living.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and update basic costs calculations for existing and new upcoming products
  • Cost tracking of changes in existing programs
  • Participating on project meetings for new projects focusing on preparing / supporting costs analysis
  • Cost driver analysis 
  • Prepare scenario-based manufacturing calculations, decision calculations, status reports, and develop the Target costs/target prices using product life cycle costing (PLC).
  • Preparation of carbon footprint management in product costing
  • Database- and system-supported calculations and simulations of the carbon footprint of our materials, sub- assemblies and final products
  • Preparations for negotiations and decisions regarding CO2e relevant factors and costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and information needed for accurate footprint assessments.
  • Analysis, evaluation and management of optimization projects regarding carbon footprint in relation to our costs of our products.
  • Implementation of cost reduction and carbon footprint reduction projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing environmental impact assessments and recommending sustainable alternatives.

Your experience and skills

  • At least technical or financial education background
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience and related process cost knowledge
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office Excel
  • Very good knowledge of English, German is an advantage
  • Basic willingness to travel
  • SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • TC/PCM (Team Center Product cost management) is an advantage
